On one hit wonders / by kate O'neill

The first recorded one hit wonder in the UK was by American chanteuse Kitty Kallen, who had a number one smash with the romantic ballad Little Things Mean A Lot in September 1954. A popular female vocalist in the USA, and still making records into the early 1960s, Kitty achieved ten top ten hits across the pond but was never to score further chart success in Britain.
